DESCRIPTION: Robinson & Collins, New York, 8 day, time and strike, detached fusee brass movement shelf clock, c1845
CONDITION: Mahogany veneer and pine case in an old finish with some minor loss on the base. The bevel frame, case sides and half-round moldings are plain finished pine and not veneered. These parts would have been veneered originally. Original painted wood dial with a little wear and some loss at the mounting pins. Hands are period and most likely original, although the minute hand has a bushing to fit the movement. Original tablet is worn. Original 30 hour movement converted to an 8 days, by the addition of sections from the front plate stampings. Ht 20.5" For a veneered case, see Year Clock Co [J. R.
